You know that annoying person in your family with the camera,
making you pose for a thousand pictures? Well, that’s me. But, didn’t you appreciate all of the photos later?
For as long as I can remember, I have always been the one with the
camera. From family events to nights out with friends, my camera and I have been front and center capturing the milestones of life.
In 2009, I realized I had a unique perspective on the things I love
most. I found the beauty of Humboldt at the end of my lens and so I began my journey. Starting with the landscape and wildlife of Manila Dunes, I was featured in six local art shows in just two years.
While attending the Academy of Art University, I started to branch out of my comfort zone. Taking on portrait photography was a difficult challenge. I had the desire to set myself apart from the everyday photo studio, which I achieved by offering only location shoots and minimal editing. Late 2011, I had the privilege of working with Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department, photographing their events. That experience led me to working as a fire photographer for the Arcata Fire District. My admiration
for firefighting and a particularly bad wildland fire season for California pushed me to seek out more opportunities. In 2015, I was accepted as a front line wildland fire photographer for Cal-Fire. As I continue this journey,I am determined to use my photographic talent and skill to capture life’s important moments through the artistry of my camera lens, allowing these
beautiful and memorable images to be preserved and cherished.
